According to GNAT, a list of teachers recruited between February and November 2022 has been provided to the Director General, pointing out that their salaries were slashed arbitrarily.

The association emphasized that the incorrect dates of assumption of duty were used for payment, leading to financial losses and demotivation among the affected teachers.

GNAT expressed concerns that the unlawful salary cuts not only affect the teachers’ morale but also have implications for their promotion and retirement benefits.

“This unlawful act has not only demotivated the affected teachers but will also go a long way to affect their promotion and retirement”

The association called for urgent action from the director to rectify the situation and ensure that all affected teachers receive their rightful salaries promptly to avoid potential legal consequences.
