In a significant step towards improving teaching standards and professional development, the National Teaching Council (NTC) engaged with the Ghana Education Service (GES) at the GES Headquarters on January 26th, 2024.
The purpose of the meeting was to discuss various important matters concerning the teaching profession. The central focus was on Continuous Professional Development (CPD) and the pre-populating of the pass list of licensure examinations on the GES recruitment portal.

Both the NTC and GES, being key entities operating under the auspices of the Ministry of Education, recognize the significance of raising teaching standards and ensuring that only qualified individuals are recruited into the education sector.
During the engagement, the representatives from both agencies exchanged ideas on how to enhance the CPD programs for teachers.
Additionally, the pre-populating of the pass list of licensure examinations on the GES recruitment portal was a topic of discussion.

This development aims to streamline the process of recruiting teachers and guarantee that only qualified individuals are employed by the GES.
By populating the pass list digitally, the GES recruitment portal will automatically select candidates who have successfully obtained licensure, easing the burden of manual verification and reducing errors in the recruitment process.
