New Pass Mark for Teacher Licensure Examination Announced

The National Teaching Council (NTC) has agreed to slightly revise the pass mark for the Ghana Teacher Licensure Examination (GTLE).

This decision was made after a petition by the Teacher Trainees’ Association of Ghana (TTAG) urging the Minister of Education to intervene in the pass mark issues.

In response to TTAG’s petition, the Minister agreed to step in and address the concerns raised in which the NTC Board finally accepted.

The TTAG publicity team has now communicated to all GTLE candidates the news of the NTC’s decision to marginally revise the pass mark to 52%.

The team has also informed all candidates to anticipate the release of their results very soon as issues regarding the pass mark are now resolved.

TTAG expressed its gratitude to the Ministry of Education (MoE), NTC, and other stakeholders for their cooperation and willingness to reduce the pass mark to 52%.

It is noteworthy that the NTC had previously announced a pass mark of 70% for this year’s GTLE which caused alot of uproars from the candidates and other stakeholders.

However, with the revised pass mark to 52% as accounced, candidates now have a greater chance of successfully obtaining their teaching license.
