
The Komenda College of Education and seven other colleges affiliated to the University of Education, UEW, have been reassigned to the Akenten Appiah Menka University of Skills Training and Entrepreneurial Development (AAMUSTED).
This decision comes after a thorough assessment conducted by the Ghana Tertiary Education Commission (GTEC), which approved AAMUSTED’s readiness to mentor these eight technical and vocational colleges.
Effective from the 2023/2024 academic year, AAMUSTED will assume the role of mentor for these Eight Colleges of Education:

- Ada College of Education, Ada Foah, Greater Accra Region
- Akatsi College of Education, Akatsi, Volta Region
- Bagabaga College of Education, Tamale, Northern Region
- Wiawso College of Education, Sewfi-Wiawso, Western-North Region
- St. John Bosco College of Education, Navrongo, Upper East Region
- Nusrat Jahan Ahmadiyya College of Education, Wa, Upper West Region
- Mampong Technical College of Education, Mampong Ashanti, Ashanti Region
- Komenda College of Education, Komenda, Central Region.
The main objective of this transfer is to enhance the quality of technical and vocational education in these colleges, providing students with valuable skills training and entrepreneurial development opportunities.
Prospective students must note that admissions for the 2023/2024 academic year at Komenda College of Education and the other seven mentioned colleges will fall under the purview of AAMUSTED, rather than UEW.

Consequently, these colleges will prioritize admitting more technical and vocational students in their upcoming admissions cycle.
