Disgruntled graduate teachers have issued a stern warning to the NPP government, threatening to vote them out on December 7th if their appointment letters are not released before November 30th, 2024.

These teachers are furious over the Ghana Education Service’s (GES) prolonged delay in releasing their appointment letters.

“We are tired of waiting endlessly,” declared one frustrated graduate teacher. “Our services are desperately needed in schools, but we are stuck in limbo, unable to help students and struggling financially.”

The teachers, who applied for positions several months ago, had expected to be appointed before the start of the 2024-2025 academic year.

However, the GES has remained silent on the issue, leaving many graduate teachers feeling hopeless and disillusioned.

According to some of the applicants, the government’s tactic of delaying appointments until close to elections to gain political leverage is unacceptable.

They emphasized their urgent need for jobs to support themselves and their families, as well as to contribute to the education system.

“If they think they can bribe us with a late appointment in December, they are mistaken,” said another teacher. “We won’t be fooled. We will remember their inaction and the hardship it caused us.”

The teachers have called on the GES and Ministry of Education (MoE) to act swiftly and release their appointment letters to avoid losing their votes on December 7th.
