The Ghana Education Service (GES) has issued a cautionary note to parents of wards in public Senior High Schools , advising them against paying the WASSCE registration fee for the 2024 exams.
The GES made it clear that this fee is already covered by the Free Senior High School (SHS) policy.
Speaking at a press briefing in Accra ( Watch Video below), Dr. Eric Nkansah, the Director-General of the GES, emphasized that all students in government secondary schools under the Free SHS program are exempted from paying the GH¢465 registration fee.

Furthermore, Dr. Nkansah highlighted that final year students should not be compelled to cut short their vacations to complete the registration process for the WASSCE.
The portal for registration was opened on March 11, 2024, and will close on April 19, 2024.
