The National Teaching Council, responsible for regulating the teaching profession in Ghana, has outlined the registration fees for the Ghana Teacher Licensure Examination (GTLE) as part of the licensing process for aspiring teachers.
The examination aims to assess candidates’ professional knowledge, practice, values, and attitudes in accordance with the National Teachers’ Standards.
Eligibility
To be eligible to sit for the GTLE, candidates must hold a Bachelor of Education Degree or a Postgraduate Diploma in Education.
Those with foreign degrees must provide a certificate evaluation report from the Ghana Tertiary Education Commission to demonstrate their qualifications.

Indexing
The indexing process is mandatory for fresh candidates.
This process verifies that their training institutions have uploaded their details to the NTC platform, enabling them to register for the exams.
Here is how to Check;
Visit https://indexing.ntc.gov.gh to check (check confirmation status) if your details have been uploaded by your training institution using your school index number.
If your details have been uploaded you will receive the feedback, “Your details have been uploaded onto the platform. You can pay for your indexing number”
It should be noted that the indexing fee is GH⍧50.00.

Registration Fees:
• Fresh Candidates: GH⍧450.00 for three papers.
• Re-sitting One Paper: GH⍧150.00
• Re-sitting Two Papers: GH⍧210.00
• Re-sitting All Three Papers: GH⍧385.00

Important Notes:
• Payment must be made after your details are uploaded by your training institution.
• Unqualified individuals or those without their details on the portal will not be refunded if they make a payment.
• Make sure you have all your details intact and uploaded before the NTC Opens the portal for registration.
• The 2025 GTLE is scheduled for April 2025.
