The Ghana Education Service (GES) has revealed in a press statement that three teacher unions in the pre-tertiary education sector have declared a withdrawal of their services, effective Wednesday 20th March 2024.

In light of this development, GES has directed heads of public kindergarten and primary schools, as well as junior and senior high schools to mobilize their management teams to ensure the safety and well-being of all students within their schools.

To address concerns from parents, GES management has assured them that they are closely monitoring the situation and will provide guidance and updates accordingly.

They have further directed regional and district directors to ensure that schools remain open and to closely supervise all children who still report to school.

According to GES, this directive will stand until further instructions are given by management.
