The Management of the Ghana Education Service (GES) has issued an urgent request for the submission of the names of absent students in Junior High School (JHS) Form One and Form Two (JHS1 & JHS2) for the academic year 2022/2023.
This request specifically targets students who were absent from the 7th to 11th of August, 2023. Both public and private schools are expected to comply with this directive.
Heads of Junior High Schools have been directed by the GES management to submit the names of students who were absent during this specified period.

Additionally, they are required to provide their class attendance registers for verification purposes. These submissions will be made to the respective Metro/Municipal/District Directors of Education.
The onus falls on the Metro/Municipal/District Directors of Education to compile and submit the names of these absentees to the Director-General through their respective Regional Directors of Education.
To ensure a smooth process, the deadline for submission has been set for the close of work on Wednesday, the 18th of October, 2023.

To facilitate this data collection, the GES has provided two channels for prompt communication. Heads of Junior High Schools are expected to promptly send the required data through either email or via their WhatsApp number.
Regional Directors have been tasked with effectively communicating this information to the Metro/Municipal/District Directors of Education.
