The Ghana Education Service (GES) has released the second-cycle school selection form for students who sat for the 2024 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE).

This form will allow students to choose their preferred Senior High Schools (SHS) for computer placement.

Guidelines for Selecting SHS

The second cycle school selection form for 2024 provides clear guidelines for students to select their choice of public Senior High Schools in Ghana.

The form explains that SHSs have been grouped into categories A through D, as well as Technical institutions.

Students are required to select six schools, including programs and accommodations for each choice.

Options for Students

According to the guidelines provided in the selection form, students can choose either boarding SHSs or day schools as their sixth option.

These guidelines aim to ensure a smooth placement process for qualified BECE candidates.

Important Guidelines for SHS Selection

2. Select Programs and Residential Status: Students must select the specific programs and indicate whether they prefer boarding or day school for each choice.

3. Choose a Compulsory Day School: As the sixth choice, candidates must select a compulsory day school within 16 kilometers of the Junior High School (JHS) attended. Alternatively, they can choose a boarding school from a specific list.

4. Consider Second Placement Options: Candidates who miss out on all their initial six choices can select five schools from a specified list for consideration of a second placement.
