The Ghana Education Service (GES) has issued a directive to all Regional Directors, instructing them to implement new procedures for submitting documents to the GES Headquarters.
The directive, referenced GES/DD-G)/28/24/140, addresses the concern of staff leaving their respective offices and schools to personally submit documents to the Payroll Section at GES Headquarters.
This practice, the GES argues, disrupts working hours and consequently impacts the quality of education delivery.
Therefore, the directive, effective from June 3, 2024, aims to improve efficiency and ensure uninterrupted quality education delivery.

The directive outlines the following key points:
1. Documents related to Salary Reactivation, Vacation of Post, Responsibility Allowance, Re-engagement, Termination, and New Entrants (Newly Recruited) should no longer be given to individual staff members or their representatives to submit at the GES headquarters. Instead, these documents should be compiled and sent to the GES headquarters by the respective Regional HR Officer.
2. All compiled documents should be accompanied by a comprehensive list, both in soft and hard copy formats. The compiled documents and list should be forwarded to the Director of Human Resource Management and Development (HRMD) at the GES headquarters in Accra.

3. The compiled documents should be arranged in an orderly manner according to the provided list.
All Regional and Metropolitan/Municipal/District Directors of Education are requested to take note of this directive and ensure its strict compliance.
