
The Ghana Education Service (GES), in collaboration with PwC Ghana, has organized a comprehensive Scheme of Service document review and validation workshop spanning from Thursday, February 15 to Saturday, February 17, 2024.
The primary objective of the Scheme of Service is to establish a structured framework delineating job roles, responsibilities, career progression criteria and required skills and competencies across various staff categories within the Service.

This initiative aims to realign the workforce with GES’s new organizational structure, facilitating a seamless transition and ensuring strategic coherence with the Service’s overarching objectives.
At the core of the workshop was an in-depth examination of the GES Competency framework, designed to systematically define, evaluate, and manage the skills, behaviours, and knowledge essential for optimal job performance within the Service.

This framework will also ensures that the workforce is aligned with the redesigned structure and reflects the core competencies required for effective performance within the GES.
The workshop witnessed active participation from key stakeholders, including GES Management, headquarters staff, Regional and District Directors, and representatives from crucial educational bodies such as the Conference of Heads of Basic Schools (CHOBS), Conference of Heads of Assisted Secondary Schools (CHASS), Conference of Directors of Education (CODE), and Conference of Managers of Educational Units (COMEU), among others.
