GES Awaits Financial Clearance to Commence Recruitment- Director General

The Director General, Dr. Eric Nkansah has disclosed that the Ghana Education Service (GES) is currently awaiting financial clearance from the Ministry of Finance to proceed with recruiting trained teachers for the year 2024.

In a recent statement on Peace FM’s mid-day news, He revealed that the Ministry of Finance is in the process of granting them the necessary financial clearance required for the recruitment of both teaching and non-teaching staff.

He noted that the recruitment process is currently on hold until the financial hurdles are cleared.

However, to expedite the recruitment process, a group of trained teachers has also submitted a petition to the GES and Ministry of Education, emphasizing the urgency of the situation.

According to them, they have fulfilled their national service obligations and successfully passed the Ghana Teacher Licensure Exams so do not see the reason why the Service should not recruit them.

Although there have been delays due to the financial clearance, they are urged to remain hopeful as they will soon receive their permanent postings and commence their careers in education once the clearance is released.

Dr. Nkansah has also reiterated his commitment to securing the financial clearance needed for the recruitment to commence.
