The National Teaching Council (NTC) has issued a strong warning to teachers regarding a fraudulent phone call scam circulating.

The scam involves individuals claiming to be NTC staff and requesting teachers to join virtual meetings.

The Council has confirmed that this is a hoax and no such calls have been authorized.

“No NTC staff has been instructed to call teachers to join a meeting,” stated the official NTC statement.

“We never invite teachers to a virtual meeting through a phone call. The usual way of inviting teachers to a virtual meeting is to send a link to the individual teacher through an SMS or share the link on our official social media platforms.”

The Council also expressed concerns about fraudsters taking advantage of such situations and urged teachers to be wary of their operations.

Teachers were therefore advised to verify information only through official NTC communication channels, such as their official website https://www.ntc.gov.gh/ and authorized social media accounts.
