The National Conference of Principals of Colleges of Education, Ghana (PRINCOF) has released the official academic calendar for the 2024/2025 academic year, outlining key dates for final year teacher trainees.
Reporting for Orientation and Macro Teaching:
Final year students are scheduled to report to their respective colleges for orientation towards their Macro teaching from November 11th to 15th, 2024.
This intensive orientation programme is designed to prepare trainees for their practical teaching experiences in real-world classroom settings.

Macro Teaching Schedule:
Following orientation, trainees will officially commence their Macro teaching at their assigned schools of attachment on November 15th, 2024.
The first phase of Macro teaching will conclude on December 20th, 2024, coinciding with the end of the first term for the basic schools.
Trainees will therefore resume their Macro teaching on January 8th, 2025, when basic schools begin their second term.
The programme is expected to conclude in February (exact date to be confirmed), after which trainees will break and return to their various colleges to complete the final phase of their B.Ed programme (second semester).

Key Aspects of Macro Teaching:
The Macro teaching is an integral part of the B.Ed curriculum, allowing trainees to gain practical experience and develop essential teaching skills.
This intensive period will involve:
• Classroom Observation: Trainees will observe experienced teachers in their classrooms, gaining insights into effective teaching strategies.
• Lesson Planning and Delivery: Under the guidance of mentors, trainees will plan and deliver lessons to students, honing their teaching skills.
• Child study: This refers to a systematic process of observing, assessing, and documenting a child’s development, behavior, and learning progress over time.
• Action Research: Trainees will identify a classroom challenge and conduct action research to develop and implement solutions, fostering critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.

Final Phase of B.Ed Program:
Following the completion of the Macro teaching, final year students will report to their colleges on April 27th, 2025, for the final phase of their B.Ed programme.
This phase will culminate on August 2nd, 2025.

Payment of Fees
Trainees are urged to ensure that they make at least the percentage of the fees as demanded by their management to ensure a smooth and successful out-programme.
