The Management of E.P. College of Education in Amedzofe has issued a strong statement refuting a recent directive from the Teacher Trainees’ Association of Ghana (TTAG) instructing final-year students to abandon their teaching practice due to the ongoing industrial action by their tutors.
The college has urged all Level 400 students to disregard the instruction and continue their off-campus teaching practice exercise.
In a notice released on January 13th, 2025, and signed by the Vice Principal, Courage Jaw Mawutor, the college stated that it had not received any official communication from TTAG regarding the directive.

Furthermore, the college clarified that neither the Ghana Tertiary Education Commission (GTEC) nor the Conference of Principals of Colleges of Education (PRINCOF), the college’s governing authorities, had issued any such instructions.
“We wish to inform all level 400 students of E. P. College of Education, Amedzofe that management has not received any letter from TTAG, neither have we received any of such directive from our authorities (GTEC and PRINCOF). We therefore advice students to disregard such instruction from unauthorised sources and focus on their Teaching Practise exercise” the notice reads.

This comes in response to the recent instruction from TTAG to all Level 400 teacher trainees to stop their ongoing teaching practice and return home immediately.
“The attention of Management has been drawn to an alleged news from Teacher Trainees’ Association of Ghana (TTAG), instructing all level 400 students on Teaching Practise to stop and leave their off-campus teaching stations for home,” the notice stated.
The college’s management stated that such information is an unauthorized instruction and has advised the students to ignore it.
The notice clearly stated that “Any student who abandons his/her Teaching Practise exercise does so at his/her own risk.”
