The Coalition of Unemployed Trained Teachers (CUTT) has announced plans to hold a picket at the Ministry of Education and Ghana Education Service (GES) headquarters in Accra.
The protest is scheduled for May 14, 2024, and aims to demand immediate postings for qualified trained teachers who have been waiting for months to be recruited.
According to CUTT, despite repeated appeals to the GES Director-General for postings by April, no action has been taken.

They revealed that they have sent several letters to both the Ministry of Education and GES, but their pleas have been met with silence.
“We are tired of empty promises and inaction,” said CUTT. “We have been trained and certified, and we deserve to be employed.”
The protest is expected to draw hundreds of unemployed teachers who are frustrated by the lack of progress and failed promises.

CUTT hopes that the demonstration will force the authorities to address their demands and expedite the recruitment process.
“We will not rest until every qualified trained teacher is given a fair chance to contribute to the education of our children,” CUTT added.
