It has come to our notice that several colleges of education have decided to postpone the reopening date of the second semester for the level 200 students.
According to the information we have gathered, the new date for the commencement of the semester is set for Wednesday, 30th August, 2023.
The reason behind this postponement is directly linked to the ongoing strike action by the Colleges of Education Teachers Association of Ghana (CETAG).

With the strike still in force, such colleges of education have opted to delay the reopening date in the hopes that the strike will be called off by the new proposed date.
Initially, the second-year students in colleges of education were scheduled to begin their second-semester first phase, which spans over a period of six weeks, starting from 27th August and ending on 7th October 2023.

However, due to the current CETAG strike, these colleges have decided to push back this date, taking into consideration the uncertain nature of the strike’s resolution.
It is important to note that there is still no confirmation regarding the calling off of the CETAG strike on the 30th of August.
Therefore, there remains a possibility of further extension to the reopening date if the strike persists beyond that date.
