The National Labour Commission (NLC) has cancelled the proposed meeting with the Fair Wages and Salaries Commisssion(FWSC) and the Colleges of Education Teachers Association of Ghana (CETAG).
The cancellation of the meeting was due to Fair Wages and Salaries Commission’s (FWSC) failure to appear before the High Court on the 26th of June, 2024. As a result, the NLC found it inappropriate to proceed with the meeting on 27th June, 2024.

Additionally, the NLC has directed CETAG to call off their strike before any hearing can proceed.
However, CETAG has not complied with this directive, leaving the NLC with no choice but to withhold the meeting until the strike is called off.
Consequently, the NLC did not hear any pleas from either side.

However, the FWSC has now been rescheduled to appear before court on the 18th of July, 2024.
At this hearing, they will be expected to present evidence of the implementation of the NLC’s directives.
The question of whether CETAG will call off their strike still remains unanswered.
In their previous communications, CETAG has made it clear that they will not be intimidated into ending their strike until all their demands are met.
