CETAG Strike Continues: High Court Adjourns Injunction Case, Press Conference Planned

The Colleges of Education Teachers Association of Ghana (CETAG) has announced plans to hold a press conference in order to address their ongoing industrial action.

In a statement released on July 19, 2024, CETAG commended its members for their unwavering determination and commitment to fighting for justice and fairness.

The press conference, scheduled for Tuesday, July 23, 2024, will take place at Wesley College in Kumasi at 10:00 a.m.

According to the leadership, the aim of the conference is to set the record straight and provide the public with accurate information regarding the strike.

CETAG also provided an update on the latest court proceedings related to the interlocutory injunction case filed against them by the National Labour Commission (NLC).

The leadership revealed that their legal team was present at the High Court of Judicature in Accra for the scheduled hearing on Thursday, July 18, 2024.

However, they were informed that the judge had been reassigned to another important activity elsewhere, resulting in the hearing being adjourned to August 6, 2024.

The leadership expressed confidence in their legal team and assured the members that every effort would be made to defend the association and its members in all situations.

The association also called on its members to remain resolute until the employer fulfills the Compulsory Arbitration Award issued by the NLC on May 2, 2023.
