CETAG Directed to Call Off Strike by NLC

The leadership of the Colleges of Education Teachers Association of Ghana (CETAG) has been directed by the National Labour Commission (NLC) to call off their ongoing strike.

The directive was issued on 31st August 2023, as the law does not permit the Commission to take up their salary freeze issue whilst they(CETAG) are on strike.

Following this directive, the leadership of CETAG requested for some time to touch base with their constituents before calling off the strike.

Although not yet confirmed, sources have indicated that CETAG is contemplating on calling off their strike before exploring any alternative avenues if it becomes necessary for redress.

Additionally, there have been reports stating that the academic calendar will remain unchanged, with no extensions granted.

As a result, trainees can expect to write their end-of-semester examinations as scheduled on the 2022/2023 academic calendar.

In light of this information, trainees are to prepare for the resumption of academic activities soon.
