The Colleges of Education Teachers Association of Ghana (CETAG) and the Colleges of Education Non-teaching Staff Association of Ghana (CENTSAG) have been invited by the National Labour Commission (NLC) to a meeting scheduled for Wednesday, January 15, 2025.
The meeting will address the ongoing industrial action that has led to the recent adjustment of the reopening date for colleges of education.
CETAG resumed its industrial action on January 2, 2025, demanding the full implementation of their National Labour Commission (NLC) Arbitral Awards.
The association has urged its members to refrain from performing any official duties should the colleges reopen without their demands being met.
CETAG has also made it clear that its members will not return to official duties, including teaching and supervising project work, until their demands are met.

Additionally, the non-teaching staff have issued a notice of a strike set to commence on January 13, 2025, should their demands remain unmet.
These ongoing industrial actions have posed significant challenges to the smooth start of the academic year for colleges of education across the country.
The colleges were initially scheduled to resume academic activities on November 18, 2024, but this was first postponed to January 13, 2025, and has now been further postponed to January 27, 2025
