Brief Background
Holy Child College of Education, located in Takoradi in the Western Region of Ghana, is a reputable all-female college of education.
Established in 1954, the college is one of the 46 public colleges of education in Ghana and is affiliated to the prestigious University of Cape Coast,UCC.
Over the years, Holy Child College of Education has produced numerous women teachers who have been actively engaged in teaching not only in basic schools but also in secondary and tertiary institutions.

Current Courses offered at Holy Child College of Education
The college has a rich history of running diverse programs since its establishment.
Currently, the college runs a four-year B.Ed. (Bachelor of Education) program, which includes;
- Early Childhood Education
- Primary Education
- JHS (Junior High School) Education.
In the JHS Education program, the college has specializations in;
- Home Economics
- Languages(Ghanaian language and English language)
- Ghanaian language and social studies/RME
- English language and Social studies/RME

The college recognizes the importance of good academic performance, and as such, has set admission requirements for prospective students.
It is important to note that D7 is not an acceptable grade for getting admission into the Holy Child College of Education.
The only guarantee for admission into Holy Child College of Education is to pass the WASSCE (West African Senior School Certificate Examination) with a good grade (A1-C6).

Admission Requirements
The general requirement for admission to the 4-Year Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) Programme is as follows:
WASSCE Holders:
CREDIT PASSES (A1-C6) in six (6) subjects comprising Three (3) Core subjects, including English Language, and Core Mathematics, and Three (3) Elective subjects relevant to the course of
SSSCE Holders:
CREDIT PASSES (A-D) in six (6) subjects comprising Three(3) Core subjects, including English Language, and Core Mathematics, and Three (3) Elective subjects relevant to the course of study.
Candidates who are yet to write either the WASSCE or NABPTEX examinations this year can also apply as awaiting results.
