Brief Background
Foso College of Education is a co-educational teacher education college in Foso (Assin North Municipal District, Central Region, Ghana)
The college which was opened in 1965 by Dr. Kwame Nkrumah is often referred to as the University of Assin by the local people.

Foso Training College has run every pre-tertiary teacher training programme in Ghana in the past.
These programmes include the following:
- 4-Year Post-Middle Certificate ‘A’
- 2-Year Post-Middle Certificate ‘B’
- 2-Year Post ‘B’ Certificate ‘A’
- 2-Year Post-Secondary Certificate ‘A’
- 2-Year Post ‘A’ Specialist Course in Agricultural Science
- 3-Year Post-Secondary Certificate ‘A’
- 3-Year Post-Secondary Specialist Course in Mathematics, Science, Agricultural Science and
- 2-Year Post-Middle Certificate ‘A’ (Modular)
The College is one of the 46 public colleges of education in Ghana and is affiliated to the University of Cape Coast, UCC.College

Currently, Foso College of Education has received an Institutional accreditation from thne Ghana Tertiary Education Commission (GTEC) to run the following 4-year Bachelor of Education programmes;

However, D7 is not an acceptable grade for getting admission into Foso College of Education.

Admission Requirements
The general requirement for admission to the 4-Year Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) Programme is as follows:
WASSCE Holders:
CREDIT PASSES (A1-C6) in six (6) subjects comprising Three (3) Core subjects, including English Language, and Core Mathematics, and Three (3) Elective subjects relevant to the course of
SSSCE Holders:
CREDIT PASSES (A-D) in six (6) subjects comprising Three(3) Core subjects, including English Language, and Core Mathematics, and Three (3) Elective subjects relevant to the course of study.
