The Central Regional Minister, Mrs. Justina Marigold Assan, has announced that all blackboards in schools within the region will be replaced with whiteboards.

Speaking at the Grand Durbar of the Beyond 100 Years Celebration by the Methodist Schools in Elmina on May 23, 2024, the minister lauded the teachers in the region and the country for their hard work and dedication even while using blackboards.

She noted the difficulties faced by the teachers when writing on the blackboards, with chalk particles entering their noses, mouths, and dresses.

“God richly bless teachers. When they are writing on the board, you can see the chalk particles getting into their noses, their mouths, their dresses, and all,” she revealed.

Mrs. Justina Marigold Assan added that the end of the usage of blackboards in the region has come as the government has granted their requests for whiteboards.

“We were tasked to put together data that would be able to help us change all the blackboards in the region, and we did,” she stated.

Justina Marigold Assan expressed her gratitude to the President, Nana Akufo-Addo, and the Vice President, Dr. Bawumia, for supporting education in the region and the country at large.

She also urged parents in the region to prioritize their children’s education, stating that it is the best investment they can make.
