The Ghana Education Service (GES) has issued a directive instructing all heads of basic and second cycle schools to accept both handwritten and electronically prepared lesson notes by their teachers.

This move comes in response to reported misunderstandings between school heads and their teaching staff regarding acceptable formats for lesson planning.

In a letter dated January 17th, 2025, and addressed to all regional directors,GES stated that it had become aware of the differing expectations surrounding the lesson note preparation.

“Management of the Ghana Education Service (GES) has become aware of some misunderstanding between heads and their teachers in some schools in respect of lesson notes preparations,” the letter stated.
