Three tertiary teacher unions have threatened to embark on an industrial action effective June 21st if their demands are not met.
The Senior Staff Association-Universities of Ghana (SSA-UoG), Federation of Senior Staff Association of Ghana (FUSSAG), and Teachers and Educational Workers Union of Trade Union Congress (TEWU-TUC) expressed dissatisfaction over their exclusion from the recent government review of Vehicle Maintenance Allowance (VMA) and related allowances.
In a statement released on Tuesday, June 11th, the unions condemned the exclusion as a violation of fairness and justice.

They argued that they were unfairly omitted from the VMA review, which only benefited members of the University Teachers Association of Ghana (UTAG).
The unions have given the Fair Wages and Salaries Commission an ultimatum to address their concerns by June 21st or face a strike.
They called upon their members to remain united in their demands for fair treatment.
