The Computerized School Selection and Placement System (CSSPS) uses the BECE aggregate to allocate students to SHSs.
Here’s a breakdown of how aggregate scores typically translate into the school placement:
Excellent Performance (Aggregate 6 – 10): Students in this range often get their first choice of school, gaining access to top-tier SHSs across the country.
Good Performance (Aggregate 11 – 19): Students in this category have a high chance of securing a place in a good SHS, though their first choice might be less likely, especially for highly competitive schools.

Average Performance (Aggregate 20 – 29): Students in this range may be placed in decent SHSs, but they may need to consider their second or third choices, facing more competition for the top schools.
Lower Performance (Aggregate 30 – 35): This aggregate range is considered average, and students are more likely to be placed in their second, third, or even fourth choice schools, as top SHSs may have limited spaces.
Challenges (Aggregate 35 and Above): Students with this aggregate score might find it challenging to secure a place in highly sought-after schools.
The CSSPS prioritizes placing them in schools with available spaces, often lower on their preference list or less competitive options.

CSSPS School Selection Process
Students are required to choose five schools in order of preference during the CSSPS process:
• First Choice: This is the school you most desire.
• Second Choice: Your backup option if you don’t get your first choice.

• Third & Fourth Choice: These choices provide additional backup options and should represent schools you’d be happy to attend.
• Fifth Choice: This serves as a safety net and increases your chances of placement if your top four choices are unavailable.
Self-Placement:
In the event that a student is not placed in any of their five chosen schools, they can participate in the self-placement process.
The CSSPS system provides a list of schools with available spaces, allowing students to select a school even if it wasn’t their initial choice.
