There are Forty-Six (46) Public Colleges of Education across the country.

Each of these colleges is affiliated to a public university to be mentored.

The Public Colleges of Education affiliated to the University of Ghana, Legon, include:

  • Accra College of Education
  • Peki College of Education
  • Mount Mary College of Education, Somanya
  • Enchi College of Education
  • E.P College of Education, Amedzofe
  • Gbewaa College of Education, Pusiga

Certification

It is important to note that upon completing a programme of study at any of the colleges above, students will be awarded certificates from the University of Ghana, Legon.

Admission Requirements

To gain admission into any of the affiliated colleges listed above, prospective students must meet specific academic criteria based on their educational backgrounds:

  • Applicants with WASSCE results should possess Credit passes (A1-C6) in three (3) CORE subjects, including English Language, Mathematics, Integrated Science or Social Studies, and credit passes in three (3) relevant Elective subjects.
  • SSSCE applicants are required to have credit passes (A-D) in three (3) CORE subjects, including English Language and Mathematics, along with credit passes in three (3) relevant Elective subjects.
  • Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) applicants must hold a TVET Certificate II with a Lower Credit (C-) or better in six (6) subjects, comprising three core subjects (English, Mathematics, Integrated Science or Social Studies) and three relevant Elective subjects.
