[CETAG’s Strike]: NLC Invites CETAG for Another Meeting

In the latest update regarding the ongoing strike action by the Colleges of Education Teachers Association of Ghana (CETAG), it has been reported that they have once again been invited by the National Labour Commission (NLC) for a meeting.

This meeting is set to take place on Wednesday, 16th August 2023, to deliberate on the pressing issue of the ongoing strike.

The invitation has been duly received by the leadership of CETAG, however, they are yet to respond as to whether they will be attending the meeting or not.

This uncertainty leaves the fate of the strike and the affected teacher trainees in a state of limbo.

As it stands now, the academic progress of thousands of teacher trainees in the 46 colleges of education is still being severely impacted.

This week, just like the previous one, will inevitably be wasted without any fruitful academic work being carried out.

CETAG remains firm in its stance that they will only return to the classroom and resume their teaching duties after the government has fully granted their demands. Until then, the strike will continue relentlessly.
