The much anticipated Council meeting of the Colleges of Education Teachers Association of Ghana (CETAG) took place as scheduled, with the key focus being the contentious Memorandum of Agreement (MoA).
Despite deliberation, the Council voted unanimously to continue their ongoing strike until the completion of migration and payment of their arrears.
CETAG has decided to formally inform the employer and all stakeholders of their firm stance in the coming days.

The core of CETAG’s strike remains the implementation of the Arbitral Awards and the subsequent payment of their arrears.
They emphasize that the government’s decision to freeze July salaries, despite owing 20 months in arrears, demonstrates bad faith.
CETAG considers this a direct attack on their economic rights, given their legitimate demand for what is legally owed to them.
CETAG has also reiterated their demand for the government to respect the National Labour Commission’s Arbitral Award dated 2nd May, 2023, and to expedite its implementation.

They believe that their economic rights are being abused and are determined to see the award upheld.
Therefore, the strike will continue until the government effects their migration and payments.
