Information reaching Coleman Publications reveals that CETAG has called off its industrial action, which began on June 14th, following a unanimous decision by their council.
An Official letter detailing the decision to end the strike will be released soon by CETAG.
The decision came after their meeting with the Vice President and the Ministry of Employment and Labour Relations (MELR).
The meetings, held on August 15th and 19th, 2024, respectively, yielded the following outcomes:
1. Migration to University Scheme: Both parties agreed to use the nomenclature, Scheme of Service, and Conditions of Service of CETAG’s affiliate universities (Assistant Lecturer, Lecturer, Senior Lecturer, Associate Professor, and Professor) for the migration of Colleges of Education.

2. Salary Payment: Both parties agreed that salaries following the migration will be reflected in October 2024.
3. Year-Round Compensation: The Ministry of Finance has completed the necessary groundwork for validated colleges and forwarded the information to the Ministry of Education for payment by the end of August.
4. July Salaries: Government to pay salaries for July 2024, which were frozen due to the strike.
