Ghana Prisons Service Opens Recruitment for 2024

The Ghana Prisons Service has announced the commencement of its 2024 recruitment process for individuals who expressed interest and applied to join the service in 2021.

Therefore, interested and qualified Ghanaians who previously applied in 2021 are invited to submit their details for consideration.

Submission Requirements:

Applicants who are still interested and qualified are requested to submit the following information:

  • Full Name
  • Date of Birth
  • Place of Birth
  • Reference Number/Tracking Number/PIN (as at 2021)
  • Current Phone Number
  • Current Email Address
  • Previous Screening Center
  • Qualification

General Requirements:

• Must be a Ghanaian by birth

• Must be of good character and without any criminal record

• Must not have been dismissed from any public service or any other employment

• Must be of a minimum height of 5 feet 6 inches (1.68m) for males and 5 feet 2 inches (1.57m) for females

• Must be physically and medically fit to Prisons Service standards

• Must be ready to undergo basic Prisons training and other forms of training

Senior Officer (Graduate) Category:

• Must have obtained a minimum of six passes in SSSCE/WASSCE including English and Mathematics as at 31/12/2021

• Must possess a degree from a recognized university as at 31/12/2021

• Must be at least 21 years old and not older than 35 years

• Medical professionals must have a professional certificate in their chosen field from a recognized institution, must have completed one-year post horsemanship with a registered hospital or clinic as at 31/12/2021

Junior Officer Category:

• Must be at least 23 years old and not older than 33 years

• General Duties Category: Must have obtained a minimum of six passes in BECE including English and Mathematics and a minimum of five passes in SSSCE/WASSCE including Math and English as at 31/12/2021

• Artisans Category: Must have obtained a minimum of six passes in BECE including English and Mathematics and a minimum NVTI trade test certificate equivalent as at 31/12/2021

Agriculture Category: Must have obtained a minimum of five passes in SSSCE/WASSCE including English and Mathematics, plus a diploma/HND qualification.

Applicants are to submit their details, including their full name, date of birth, place of birth, reference number, current phone number, current email address, and previous screening center to recruitment@ghanaprisons.gov.gh
